About Maeve May
A Hairstylist and Colour Expert of 10+ years, I am the ultimate perfectionist when it comes to my clients’ hair! I’d say my work is a balance between creative and precise - from flowing freehand techniques like balayage to classic full heads of highlights and precision cuts, everything is carefully thought through and backed up by years of experience and the best training money can buy. Whatever it is that you want to achieve with your hair, you can trust that you are in very safe hands.
Perfect hair comes from knowledge and experience
My career started in central London with Toni&Guy, who are renowned world wide for providing the best in hair education. As I rose through the ranks there I began working at Toni&Guy Richmond as the Technical Artistic Director, during which time I also completed my L’Oréal Colour Specialist Degree - a prestigious degree level qualification in hair colouring and the science behind it.
The creation of Maeve May Hair and the ethos behind it
Having reached the peak of what I could achieve at Toni&Guy I have decided that its time for me to launch my own brand and strike out on my own - sparking the birth of Maeve May Hair. The ethos behind the business is to provide the best possible level of service in beautiful work, all in a relaxing environment where clients can feel totally at ease. In order to make this a reality, I am offering appointments on a 1-1 basis so that you can have the benefit of my full attention, without feeling rushed or having your hairdresser dipping off to deal with multiple clients at a time.
Making my clients look and feel like the best version of themselves is of the utmost importance to me, so every service starts with an in depth consultation where I will make sure that you feel listened to, confident in what we’re doing, and reassured about any concerns you may be having. Before I became a hairdresser myself I remember feeling unheard in what I actually wanted at hair appointments - and then ending up with something that wasn’t really what I wanted, only to have a lecture at the end about what products I was using and why there’s were so much better. Remembering that feeling myself really influences my own way of working- I never want a client to feel like that in my chair! I have developed a comfortable space for you to be yourself, feel heard and seen and then get the expert advice you’re looking for - judgement free.
The best products and environment
I want my clients to have the best of everything- no compromise- so I only use top quality brands and materials such as L’Oréal Professional Colour and styling products and Olaplex bonding treatments. Also I have specifically chosen to rent a space in a salon that has been newly renovated so that we can both enjoy state of the art equipment, such as brand new massage chairs in the basin area.

Tint Regrowth: A touch up on previously tinted hair (up to 1.5cm growth) £85
Longer Tint Regrowth: Tint regrowth for root lengths over 1.5cm From £95+ (depending on length of regrowth)
Parting Tint: A touch up focussing on the parting and hairline (max 4 week regrowth) £65
